There’s an association. No causal inference can be made from crosssectional studies. They also didn’t adjust for when the samples were collected, as there is variability in sodium excretion based on environmental factors. For all we know, people with an atopic dermatitis diagnosis eat more salt because of it, or the medication they’re put on messes with sodium excretion in urine. Good jump-off study, but nothing to hang your hat on as far as diagnosing, treating, or preventing AD.
